FUNDING FOR LOCAL GROUPS AND ORGANISATIONS

If you are, or want to start up, a group or organisation in New Ferry, or your group wants money for a particular project, there are a few places where you might be able to apply for funding to help you.

FUNDS FOR YOU

"Funds for You" is the Council’s Community Initiatives Fund (CIF).  Every year, it awards £10,000 to our area for local voluntary and community sector groups to make bids of up to £1000. In the Bromborough/Eastham area in which New Ferry sits, this funding is administered by the Area Forum.

"Funds for You" has been very good to New Ferry over the years, awarding funds for the NFRAG newsletters, the four Fun Days held between 2005 and 2008, Christmas Lights, and the Ferry Tots Group who are based in the Village Hall.

Application packs can be obtained by contacting the Community Engagement Team on 0151 691 8216 or email the team at: engage@wirral.gov.uk

Address: The Community Engagement Team, Corporate Services Department, North Annexe, Brighton Street, Wallasey, Merseyside CH44 8ED.

LAIRDSIDE FUND

Lairdside Communities Trust offers grants from revenues generated through its Social Enterprise Initiative – Royal Standard House. They can offer small grants of up to £250 to community and other voluntary organisations in this area. There is no restriction on the purposes for which a grant may be used, but it must provide a bona fide community benefit.

Applications must be made in writing using an application form which is available from: Royal Standard House Community Fund, Lairdside Communities Trust, 136/138 Bedford Road, Rock Ferry, Birkenhead, Merseyside CH42 2AS. Tel: 0151 643 8999

WIRRAL FARMERS MARKET COMMUNITY FUND

The market is run on a voluntary basis with the support of Wirral Borough Council.  All profits are invested in the local community primarily through grants to voluntary and community organisations in the area.  The objectives are to promote health lifestyles, outdoor activity and community regeneration in New Ferry.

Grants are typically £250-£500.
