Meeting to be held to discuss Anti-Social Behaviour in New Ferry

Merseyside Police are to hold a community meeting about anti-social behaviour in New Ferry and Port Sunlight. Please come along with your views and experiences to the meeting on MONDAY 26th SEPTEMBER at NEW FERRY VILLAGE HALL starting at 6.30pm.  More....

Protest held over closure of New Ferry's Co-op and Lloyds Bank

Hot on the heels of the announcement that the Co-op is to close its New Ferry store, Lloyds Bank has today also announced it is closing its branch in the town as well.
The news has shocked traders in the beleaguered district centre who now fear their own businesses will suffer as the result of reduced footfall.

Wirral explosion - police probe New Ferry gas blast

Merseyside Police has confirmed that a multi-agency investigation is underway in a bid to establish the cause of the explosion.  Superintendent Ian Hassall said: “Merseyside Police is carrying out a joint investigation with Merseyside Fire and Rescue, the Health and Safety Executive, National Grid and Wirral Council to establish the cause of the explosion, which resulted in two people being seriously injured and more than 30 people requiring medical attention.
