new document, currently being prepared and known as the "Core Strategy",
decides where new development will take place between now and 2021.
The Council is consulting on what might be included within this document
by looking at a number of options for the future. They want you to
have a look at the options and to give them your comments.

are concerned that the steady and continuing decline of our district
centre is recorded, and that it is now to be downgraded from being being
a "district" or "town centre" to being a "local centre". Without
significant investment, New Ferry's district centre will continue to
shrink, with more shops closing. We remain concerned that not
enough is being done to reverse this decline.
