RESIDENTS ASKED FOR THEIR COMMENTS ON WIRRAL BOROUGH COUNCIL'S CORE STRATEGY PREFERRED OPTIONS REPORT

17 November 2010

The Core Strategy is a key document in the emerging Local Development Framework for Wirral.  It is being written by Wirral Borough Council to replace the Unitary Development Plan for Wirral that was adopted in February 2000.

The new Core Strategy will provide the long term direction for future development and investment in the Borough over the next fifteen years and beyond. When adopted, the Core Strategy will contribute towards decisions on individual planning applications and will be used to guide the identification of site specific land allocations.

Preferred Options Consultation

Following Council approval on 18 October 2010, a Preferred Options Report has been published for public consultation as the next stage in the preparation of the Core Strategy for Wirral.

You can view the Core Strategy Preferred Options Report.

The deadline for comments to be submitted either on-line or in writing to arrive at Wirral Council, Strategic Development (Forward Planning Section), Town Hall, Brighton Street, Wallasey, Wirral CH44 8ED is 17.00 hours on Friday 7 January 2011.

Paper copies will be available from 15 November 2010 for public inspection at public libraries, One-Stop Shops and at the public counter of the Technical Services Department at the Cheshire Lines Building, Canning Street, Birkenhead, CH41 1ND during normal opening hours.  Additional paper or electronic copies will also be available on request from the address below.  A paper questionnaire is also available to help you comment.

The comments received will be published in a public report and will be used to help the Council prepare a draft Core Strategy, which will be published for public consultation before being submitted to the Secretary of State for public examination.
