11 December 2014

Wirral Council is asking residents for comments on their Local Plan.

What is Wirral's Local Plan?

Wirralís Core Strategy Local Plan will set out the Councilís long term vision, objectives and strategy for how land should be used across the borough. The plan includes policies that govern planning and land use. Before any of these policies are introduced or changed, the Council needs to ask the public for their views.

What is the Council consulting the public about?

The Council are currently asking for views on two sets of policies that could form part of the final Local Plan:

Modifications to policies for Gypsies and Travellers

These policies set out the need for sites for Gypsies and Travellers and alterations to the criteria for assessing suitable sites.  Find out more and have your say on the proposed changes.

Modifications to policies for town centres and retailing

These policies set out modifications to the criteria that will be applied to development within and outside areas that are defined as town centres.  Find out more and have your say on the proposed changes.

The deadline for comments is 5pm on Friday 6 February 2015.
