NeFRA Community Meetings

New Ferry Residents Association (NeFRA) consists of a group of local residents who volunteer their time to work  on behalf of the New Ferry community.

We have a  committee which meets informally when required to pursue a number of projects in agreement with local residents and businesses.

When necessary, we hold public meetings where YOU  can come along to hear our latest plans and ideas, put forward your own ideas to improve New Ferry.

Although NeFRA is a non-political organisation, our local councillors also come along to most of our meetings where you can meet them face to face and raise any concerns you might have.  We welcome  your support and input for these meetings.

The date and time of our next meeting will be announced here when known.

FESTIVALS AND POP UP MARKETS

NEW FERRY PLATINUM JUBILEE "PARTY IN THE PARK", Thursday 2nd June 2022, 10.30am till 5pm

New Ferry Community Land Trust has applied for funding to host a "Party in the Park" as part of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Weekend celebrations.  We are hoping that the as well as a funfair, there will also be stalls and 1940/50/60s themed entertainments next to the popular WW2 Spitfire aircraft which will be making a welcome return to New Ferry for all to see.  The event will take place in new Ferry Park on Bank Holiday Thursday 2nd June, 2022 from 10.30am onwards.

Visitors are also encouraged to bring their own food for a picnic party in the park whilst listening to the (free) music entertainment

Celebrate the first day of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee at New Ferry's big "Party in the Park". Funfair, rides, stalls, the WW2 Spitfire, vintage buses and entertainment from a variety of period singers performing live favourite songs from the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s.

Bring along your own food for a picnic. All the main cafes and food shops in nearby New Ferry centre will be open - Baxters (barbeque), Kesh's, Roo's Cafe, Pearsons, Greedy McReadys, Boysenberry's and Georgia's Desserts for pies, pasties, sandwiches, cakes and lots more appetising treats. Drop in to our pubs for a refreshing drink (John Masefield, The Cleveland Arms, The Bulldog, Charlie's Bar, The Railway Inn), and visit all our other (florists, gifts, crafts, etc) shops who will be delighted to see you with a friendly welcome.

Owners of vintage cars registered pre 1960 also very welcome to bring your vehicle to display next to the wartime Spitfire. Please fill in the Period Vehicle application form below to register your period vehicle.

Stallholders with their own public liability insurance are welcome to come to the event, although we cannot allow alcohol to be served for immediate consumption, and hot food such as burgers/hot dogs which are provided by the nearby cafes and shops.  As well as stalls selling crafts/gifts/etc, we also welcome stalls with appropriate games and activities such as craft making.

Stallholders must bring their own gazebos and tables.  There is NO ELECTRICITY available on the site. You are welcome to bring your own generator if you need to, but please mention this on your application form.

NEW FERRY SUMMER FESTIVAL, Sunday 28th and Monday 29th August 2022, 10am till 5pm each day

2021's huge summer festival was so successful that many have asked for us to repeat it.

The event will take place on the Sunday and Monday of the August Bank Holiday weekend.  Depending on sufficient funding being secured, the plan is to have the two WW2 aircraft return to the park, along with WW2 and modern Army forces re-enactments and vehicles.  The funfair will be present, stalls, the New Ferry dog show and other attractions which will be announced nearer the time.

Pitch spaces are (3x3m) for one day, or £25 for both days, and available on a first-come-first-served basis. Booking in advance is required as as the CLT reserves the right to limit the number of certain types of stalls.
