New Ferry Community Land Trust was set up to benefit the people and businesses of New Ferry. Since 2018 we have:
- supported the "Justice for New Ferry" campaign which eventually brought some justice of the victims of the New Ferry explosion in 2017;
- organised monthly litter picks since the end of 2018;
- set up and helped to win funding for a community land art project in 2019 that saw us create a gravel butterfly on the explosion site in time for the OVO Energy Tour of Britain when cyclists passed through New Ferry, watched by the nation's tv viewers;
- organised a community art project which saw children provide murals for the temporary community garden on one of the explosion sites;
- 98% completed a building refurbishment project that will eventually provide 4 much needed new homes for someone and has helped a local business to expand;
- launched and implemented a successful local alleyway clean up project;
- helped to set up and win funding for the "New Ferry - Our Patch" programme which has helped local volunteers take over neglected pieces of open space in New Ferry to create community gardens;
- installed and maintained planters on New Chester Road and in the precinct;
- organised and won additional funding and sponsorship to put up New Ferry's christmas lights each December;
- run several street markets to support local businesses;
- developed and obtained funding for a New Ferry Arts Strategy which has seen two phases of murals painted onto buildings by a celebrated local artist and which draws visitors from outside New Ferry to see them;
- organised and run several successful summer festivals in New Ferry Park.
